How to Make a One-Anime Music Video

Using the Public Mayhem Studios Method

Steps

Specifics

1.      Find an anime

This anime should be chosen wisely; it will be your visual media for the video. You should have at least 30 minutes of what we call “usable footage” for a standard length video (3-10 minutes). This just means that regardless of timing, scene cuts, or editing, all 30 minutes of this footage could potentially be in the video.

2.      Find a song that fits that anime

This song should be chosen wisely; it will be your audio media for the video. This song should have parallel meaning to the anime, or should have a music composition similar to that of the visual clips you will eventually be using. Your video will be approximately the same length as your song.

3.      Attain Video Editing Software

We recommend Adobe Premiere 6.0, but if you do not have the money for software, Windows Movie Maker will suffice. As your skills increase over numerous videos, you will probably find yourself being help back by WMM because of its lack of features (but this makes it easier to use if you are just starting out).

4.      Create your Video

Change clips when a large beat in the music occurs, or when the pattern of music repeats (such as you will switch clips when the hard rock chorus comes in of “Sing for the Moment” by Eminem). This makes the video more enjoyable, and we call it “synchronizing your clips.”

5.      Add your Signature

At the end, or sometimes at the beginning of an anime music video, the creator will add their logo to the timeline. For instance, at the end of every Public Mayhem video you will see our logo and sometimes see a short video clip of someone saying that the video was made by Public Mayhem Studios. You want to add something of that effect to your site. This will get your name out there and as you make multiple videos, you can make a name for yourself.

6.      Make your video public information.

Add your video to a p2p network, like KaZaA so that people can access your new work of art. If you want, you may tell us about your video and we’ll post an ad for it on the Public Mayhem Studios site. All you need to do is email us at our email at the bottom and we’ll get right back to you.
